Our Governance structure

Our governance structure encompasses a Project Steering Group made up of the Chief Executive Officers and Mayors of the partnership councils, a Project Management Group made up of stakeholder representatives, and six advisory groups made up of locals and experts who are providing advice on the heritage, economics, landscape, community, Aboriginal and site management aspects of the bid. A part-time project consultant assists with implementation of the project plan.

The Mount Lofty Ranges Agrarian Landscape World Heritage Bid Advisory Groups

1.     Our Economic Advisory Group (EAG) provides advice on engagement with the agricultural, food, wine and tourism sectors, and stage a series of business seminars on how to use World Heritage Site Listing as an economic development tool.
2.     Our Heritage Advisory Group (HAG) is helping compile inventories of existing information, define the values and heritage attributes of the landscape and commission the necessary historic and comparative research to support the documentation and production of the nomination dossiers for National Heritage listing and World Heritage listing.
3.      Our  Landscape Advisory Group (LAG) is assisting with the development of resources that support sustainable landscape planning, policy and practice in the context of the National Heritage and World Heritage nominations.
4.     Our Aboriginal Advisory Group (AAG) is helping identify Aboriginal values for the landscape and potential benefits for Aboriginal groups. The AAG will also help to record and where appropriate celebrate Aboriginal history of land use, and the story of the Letters Patent, and incorporate those stories into the nomination dossier, heritage interpretation and educational resources.
5.     Our Community Advisory Group (CAG) helps implement broader engagement with community groups, farmers, landowners, schools and local residents associations. The CAG will is also assisting with the development of resources that support community participation in the nomination process and broad understanding of the landscape heritage story.
6.    Our Management Advisory Group (MAG) provides advice on the implications of the federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act on development assessment processes, the combined impacts of the state government's Character Preservation legislation, Environment and Food Production Area legislation and World Heritage listing on landowners and potential investors, and the establishment of long term governance arrangements for the proposed World Heritage region.
