The Mount Lofty Ranges spans the renowned food, wine and tourism regions of the Clare and Barossa Valleys, the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The Adelaide Hills, Alexandrina, Mount Barker, Barossa, Clare and Gilbert Valleys, Mid-Murray, Mitcham, Onkaparinga and Yankalilla councils are collaborating with Regional Development Australia Barossa and the the Centre for Global Food Studies and Resources at the University of Adelaide to pursue a joint World Heritage nomination.

 

Project Boundary

The potential World Heritage area is yet to be defined but is based on the early South Australian survey areas in a series of landscapes stretching from the Clare Valley in the north to the Fleurieu Peninsula in the south.
